Precise Plants operates out of 3409 E Willow Springs St, which puts most of Washington City inside a ten-minute drive. That matters more than it sounds. Irrigation failures do not schedule themselves, and the difference between a broken valve caught the same morning and one caught on Thursday is the difference between a wet patch and a dead zone you replant in September.
Washington City has grown fast and unevenly, and the landscaping needs split along the same lines. Coral Canyon and Sienna Hills are newer master-planned builds with HOA landscape standards, young trees and irrigation systems installed to a builder's budget rather than a horticulturist's. Green Spring is an established golf-course community with mature plantings that have outgrown their beds. Washington Fields is still filling in. A lot of bare-dirt back yards waiting on a first proper landscape. Old Washington, down near the Cotton Mill, has some of the oldest trees in the county and the pruning backlogs to match.
We work all four, and being ten minutes away is most of why people keep us on a schedule rather than calling when something has already failed.

Washington City Ground, Specifically
Washington City sits lower than anywhere else we serve. 2,894 feet. That makes it the warmest town on this list and the one with the longest growing season, comfortably USDA zone 8b. Practically, it means you can grow things here that will not reliably survive a winter twenty minutes up the road in La Verkin, which sits nearly a thousand feet higher. It also means your summer is hotter than Hurricane's or Ivins', and July irrigation demand is at the top of the county range.
The newer subdivisions have a soil problem that is not natural. Coral Canyon, Sienna Hills and much of Washington Fields were mass-graded before building. What is left on those lots is frequently subsoil and construction fill rather than the original topsoil, compacted hard by heavy equipment. It drains poorly, roots struggle in it, and it is the reason a newly planted tree in a five-year-old subdivision can look worse after two years than the same tree planted in a 1980s yard. Amending the whole bed. Not just the planting hole. Is the difference. A hole filled with good soil inside compacted fill is a bathtub: water goes in and stays there.
Caliche is present here too, in the same St George-Hurricane corridor band. If your auger stops at eighteen inches and the material comes up white and cemented, that is it. Planting above it without breaking through is the most common reason a new tree dies in this city.
On water: Washington City is one of the four cities in the District's rebate program, which means it adopted the required water-waste ordinance. Landscape irrigation during summer midday hours is restricted. The county guidance is to avoid 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the recommended schedule tops out at four days a week in May through August. With this city's heat, cycle-and-soak matters more here than almost anywhere else in the county.

My Coral Canyon trees look stunted. Why?
Usually compacted construction fill rather than anything wrong with the tree. Mass-graded subdivision lots often lose their topsoil, and what remains is dense enough that roots cannot spread. Amending the full bed area rather than just the planting hole is what fixes it. A good hole inside bad ground behaves like a pot.
